What weather to expect as a volunteer in Thailand?

Publish
Thailand is  monsoon country and the climate is divided into three seasons: the cool (November-February), the hot (March-May), and the rainy (June-October).
Rainy season weather is usually warm and humid. Rain usually comes at night and is often accompanied by dramatic thunder and lightning. The early rainy season is rice planting time. Thailand volunteers in rural Isaan can observe or take part int the rice planting.
Visiting the rural communities with their life style formed by agricultural concerns are a great way for cultural exchange in Thailand.

Volunteers and Thai kids make pancakes

As part of our program at the orphanage in Nong Song Hong, we teach life skills and a lot of other things. These kids don't have the chance to go to a foreign restaurant, so we decided to bring the food to them and teach how to do it. While sweet pancakes are fairly easy, we upped the challenge a bit by also making savory one with a filling from fresh veggies.
